Montego Bay Community College Student to benefit from CIBC donation

Montego Bay, St. James – The Montego Bay Community College (MBCC) has received a
scholarship donation from CIBC FirstCaribbean International Bank to be awarded to a needy
student to recognize Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The cheque, valued at 75,000 JMD, was handed over to the institution on Tuesday,
November 23, 2021, at the CIBC Fairview Branch.

Principal of MBCC, Darien Henry, says that he was pleased with the donation from CIBC. “
We are very grateful for this contribution from CIBC. It is a partnership that has continued
long. We are very grateful that a student will benefit under these circumstances,” Henry said.

He added that the institution has been active in recognizing Breast Cancer Awareness Month
each year. “I believe this gesture will go a very far way in continuing to promote awareness
and at the same time benefitting one of our students,” Henry stated.

MBCC has been actively raising awareness of breast cancer over the years through various
initiatives. This year, the focus is on raising funds to help needy students who have been
affected by breast cancer.
