Workforce Development & Continuing Education Department
Admissions Clerk/Customer Service Representative – EIGS/AS3 – Contracted  

The successful applicant should possess:

  • Associate Degree in Business Administration or a related discipline
  • Two (2) years’ experience in a similar post

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome all clients to the Workforce Division’s office
  • Respond to queries from internal and external customers in a timely manner
  • Provide preliminary screening of walk-in clients before filtering clients to appropriate officers in the Division
  • Monitor telephone calls to the Division responding to queries or complaints, and routing calls appropriately
  • Provide adequate, correct, and appropriate information on products and services provided by the Division
  • Monitor the Workforce Chat on ISIMS
  • Manages the Workforce email and alert staff to communication requiring action
  • Perform follow-up calls and respond to clients via email, telephone, Teams
  • Maintain a reliable filing system of all correspondence and student records in the Continuing Education Division
  • Assist with the preparation of files for ratification of students in the department
  • Record potential customer interests and maintains database of interests
  • Perform follow-up actions by calling potential interests and sharing feedback with marketing and promotions personnel
  • Assist in the admissions process including collecting data on applicants, documents, and following up on applications
  • Dispatching and receiving items and maintaining accurate records of dispatch and receivals
  • Maintain an aesthetically pleasing work area that will delight clients

Workforce Development & Continuing Education Department

Student Development Officer (EIGS/AS5) – Contracted

 The successful applicant should possess:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, or Education, or Social Sciences
  • Events Planning and management experience
  • Counselling or Coaching techniques
  • Use of digital media, social media, current trends in Marketing
  • At least two (2) years’ experience in a similar capacity

 

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Execute student development activities such as semesterly students’ workshops, meetings, events and participation in college-wide activities
  • Maintain relationship with the Alumni Association and increase membership by preparing students for membership on graduation
  • Coaching students to facilitate effective transition from Associate degree programmes to Bachelor’s degree programmes at the College
  • Develop and manage Job Opportunities database providing job opportunities for students as well as providing trained and qualified graduates to the Workforce
  • Assist with the promotion and marketing the college’s programs to potential students and the general workforce
  • Participate in marketing and networking opportunities such as career fairs, conferences, and trade shows
  • Identify and implement student recruitment initiatives by preparing and delivering recruitment presentations in high schools and organizations
  • Participate in campus marketing and recruitment planning teams regarding college offerings
  • Conduct follow-up activities with Admissions and Marketing on student recruitment inquiries and processing status of new interests for admission of potential students
  • Coordinate activities for successful execution of Practicum, and liaise with agencies and external practicum supervisors to place students
  • Coordinate Work Experience ensuring placement of students for work experience on internal, franchised, and CCCJ programmes, provide correspondence, maintain a database of locations, and monitor all associated documentation
  • Perform Academic Advising to all Workforce student groups and students, tracking programme progress, reporting on items for intervention and or providing the requisite solution
  • Monitor students’ progress and completion of all non-credit programme components such as Community Service, Foundation courses, Team Jamaica and First Aid certification
  • Provide financial information and guidance regarding scholarships, grants, bursaries, loans, payment arrangements
  • Enhance the student experience by increasing participation of Workforce students in extracurricular activities and general College life
  • Advise students regarding access to psychosocial support services
