Summary of Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinating the Hospitality and Tourism Management Programme
- Liase with Personnel on the Preliminary Food Sciences, Food and Beverage Management, Hospitality and Tourism Diploma and Associate Degree Programmes and coordinate meetings and other activities
- Advise the Head of Department and ultimately the Principal in recommending appointments to the teaching staff of the department under his/her jurisdiction and in allocating the work to the members of staff concerned
- Prepare a list of all Lecturers teaching in the Hospitality and Creative Studies Faculty for the orientation of staff assigned to the department – both full time and part time and of students registering for courses within the Hospitality and Creative Studies Faculty
- Assist Lecturers in planning the curriculum for presentation to and discussion with the Head of Department and or the Principal
- Ensure that all courses of study within the Department each lecturer
- Has a syllabus for each course he/she is lecturing
- Prepares from the syllabus a course outline for each course
- Allots time to each unit/topic in the outline, and submits a copy of each course outline and time schedule to the Head of Department
- Supervise and assist the Lecturers in his/her department in maintaining professional standards and in keeping adequate records of student’s work and progress that is, ensuring that all courses are adequately evaluated and the results of these tests are properly recorded in the Registry
- Also ensure that a copy of each test/examination is deposited in the Registry
- Keep a copy of all tests/examinations administered
- Monitor the work of all Lecturers in the department – attendance at classes and punctuality at the classes
- Address any weaknesses that are evident in any of the staff members
- Ensure that all Lecturers keeps a class register for each class taught by the Lecturer
- Call regular meetings of Lecturers in the department to consider matters relating to the department and report to the Head of Department on the nature and outcome of all the meetings. Bring to the attention of the administration anything deemed unnecessary for the improvement of courses etc
- Maintain and keep an up-to-date inventory of the equipment and supplies in the department
- Responsible for the maintenance and care of the equipment and supplies in the department
- Teach during such periods as prescribed by the Principal
- Assist the Head of Department with any administrative duties in the Faculty
- Assist the Principal in collaboration with Heads od departments and other persons holding posts of special responsibility in general and management of the institution; and in the maintenance of discipline within the institution
- To motivate staff in the department to attend lecturers, seminars, workshops etc. as may be arranged by the College, the Council of Community Colleges of Jamaica, or any other organization working in collaboration with the College.

The successful candidate must possess:
- A Master of Science Degree in Clinical Psychology /Psychology/Guidance and Counselling or in a related discipline from an accredited institution.
- At least two years’ experience as a practitioner in the field
- In-depth knowledge of counselling assessment tools
