The successful applicant should possess:

 

Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree in Business Administration, Management Information Systems or equivalent qualifications
  • 5 CSEC/GCE Subjects (Inclusive of Mathematics, English Language and Business related)
  • At least two (2) years’ experience in a similar capacity
  • Knowledge of Accounting/Book-Keeping Software
  • Familiarity with the Government of Jamaica and the Montego Bay Community College Procurement procedures and guidelines

Competencies:

  • Above average skills in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent Communication, negotiation, analytical, customer service skills
  • Ability to take minutes and prepare reports
  • The ability to communicate with persons on various levels, interpret requisition and make recommendations where necessary

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with the sourcing of quotation/estimates for all departments.
  • Purchase goods, services and works for all departments in accordance with the Government of Jamaica procurement guidelines and the Montego Bay Community College procurement standards and procedures. 
  • Assist with the preparation and distribution of Purchase Orders and Tax Exemption certificates (GCT Exemption Certificates).
  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationship with suppliers, small contractors and all other internal customers.
  • Record and produce minutes of Procurement Committee Meetings.

JOB SUMMARY:

The incumbent will be required to maintain excellent customer service, receipt all cash and cheques accurately and efficiently and maintain an up-to-date inventory of stock (stationery in his/her possession).

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of four (4) CXCs or GCEs including Mathematics & English Language
  • Previous experience as a Cashier or similar capacity
